There is one huge difference between 1980s and 2020s for me: I heard only a couple of AM stations from USA during 1980s. Nowadays, it is much easier if one can avoid the high noise level of urban areas.
Here in Helsinki, it is practically impossible for me to hear transatlantic AM stations. Luckily, I can use a Kiwi SDR receiver located in Iitti, Finland with a double KAZ antenna directed to USA.
This morning, I heard many of the most common US stations with a nice signal. One of them was Bloomberg’s news station WBBR from New York on 1130 kHz.
